The stainless steel Glen Mills Hammer Mill can grind almost anything. The materials that have been ground include: Alfalfa, Bones, Bottles, Bread, Casein, Ceramics, Cereals, Charcoal, Chemicals, Clay, Coal, Copra, Cork, Corn, Cotton seed hulls, Drugs, Feathers, Food, Fruit, Gelatin, Glass, Grains, Graphite, Gypsum, Kaolin, Limestone, Macaroni, Marble, Mica, Newspaper, Oilcake, Pepper, Phosphates, Plastics, Refuse, Roots, Sawdust, Silage, Soap chips, Soya beans, Spices, Straw, Tobacco, Vegetables, Wheat, Wood by-products, and X-ray film.
To achieve the desired thickness there are large effective screen areas. The mill is unique in its design because of the 12 free-swinging hammers on the rotor shaft that are used to grind, pulverize, etc. There is a fold back design for easy cleaning and inspection. Also, the mill is very safe because of its twin safety switches that prevent the mill from being started with the hood open.
